Ezicaddy Care

General Care

Like any mechanical device .cleaning, care and inspection will result in longer life and extended reliability!
To keep your EziCaddy clean, use mild detergent and warm water, do not use any high pressure jet washers.
Remove the rear wheels every 3 months or so and clean. Wipe down the wheel spindle and lightly grease.
If after inspection anything concerns you or you notice symptoms of wear please call 1300 394 223 to speak to a service advisor.

Sand Bucket

The Bucket bracket fits easily at the rear of the base of the buggy.
Use the sand bucket which is included, or your club's sand bucket which will fit as well.

Battery Care

Battery should always be charged with its lid (connection cables) uppermost
When not in use the battery should be connected to the supplied smart automatic charger and be left constantly "On Charge" until you require it for use.
After use return the unit to the charger as soon as possible and put - leave "On Charge".
Do not turn the charger off when it indicates fully charged. The charger is designed to fully charge the cells and then switch over to a maintenance trickle charge.
Leaving on charge will not cause any damage and will help maximise the cell life.
When on the golf course use the ON/OFF Switch to Stop and Start your EziCaddy Buggy (use the dial to control speed only).

New Battery

A new battery must be put on charge for a period of 24 hours, this will "activate" the battery. You will find that the "charge complete" light comes on before the 24 hours are up, you must keep the battery on charge.

When the battery is new you will need to "run the battery in" this will increase the capacity or "power" level. Within this running in period you may (but not always) find that your Buggy will lack power towards the end of the round, this is perfectly normal and will improve after 3 or 4 rounds of golf.

General Use

Leave the battery connected to the charger for at least 8 hours with the mains supply switched on then leave on charge all the time the battery is not being used. This is completely safe and the cost of electricity is very minimal (less than 2 watts). Never leave your battery connected to the charger with the mains switched off, or during prolonged power failures, as this could irretrievably discharge your battery.

If you prefer not to leave your battery on charge as you know that you will not be playing for at least a month, you can store the battery. Fully charge the battery, remove from the charger and store in place where the ambient temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius (+10ºC) and less than 30 degrees Celsius (+30ºC). Recharge every 3 months or 24 hours before your next round.

When charging the battery do not place the battery on a concrete floor, have the battery raised off the floor on wooden blocks or place the battery on a shelf.

The life of the battery will depend on several variables:

  1. Frequency of use.
  2. Number of holes played each round.
  3. Type of course, flat or hilly.
  4. Weight of bag and clubs.
  5. Compliance to all of the attached recommendations.

Charger Care

The chargers used are specially designed to charge the battery to optimum levels.

The unit is very simple to use - simply plug the charger into the battery and switch on the mains.

Follow these simple rules and you should have trouble free charging. Before using the charger, read all the instructions and cautionary markings on the rear of the charging unit and instructions supplied.

  • Do not expose the charger to any form of moisture. Place on a hard surface in a well ventilated area.
  • Do not use in a sealed container or cover the ventilation slots, and do not operate the charger on carpet or similar soft material.
  • Do not operate the charger with a damaged mains lead or output lead, never attempt to shorten or alter the output lead.
  • Do not operate the charger with a damaged mains lead or output lead, never attempt to shorten or alter the output lead.
  • Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped or damaged in any way, please contact your local service agent for checking.
  • It is very important that you make sure that you connect the battery to the charging unit before switching the mains supply on. Failure to do this could result in an electrical spark.
  • Indicator Lights
    1. When the mains are on the green "power" light will illuminate.
    2. When the battery is connected the green light will turn orange indicating charging mode and the charging cycle will commence.
    3. When the battery is fully charged the green "ready" light will illuminate.
  • Leave the charger switched on and connected to the battery until such time as you require the battery, this will keep it fully charged.
  • Switch the charger off before you disconnect the battery.
  • If you disconnect the battery or interrupt the power supply the charger will automatically assume that a different battery has been attached and take it through the 6.5 hour charging cycle again.
